SNOWFORECAST: REGULAR SOME SNOW IN THE ALPS

The Alps are experiencing variable weather conditions. Areas of precipitation are regularly sweeping across the Alps, but there are also dry parts of the day with sunshine. Lower mountain ranges also turn white.

In many winter sports areas the snow cannons are already functioning, the winter season is approaching! Recently some snow has already fallen in the Alps. In the coming days, we can expect some more snow.

During Monday evening and in the night to Tuesday, a precipitation area approaches the Alps and snowflakes are expected above 800-1000 meters. In the high mountain areas 20 of 30 centimeters of fresh snow could fall. Here the wind may also be a bit stronger.
On Tuesday, it will continue to snow in Austria for a while. Some snow showers are also expected on Wednesday and Thursday, but large amounts of fresh snow are not expected for the time being.

Beautiful weather on the way

From this weekend onwards, the changeable weather will create space for dry and sunny weather. Temperatures will also rise considerably. Fortunately, the nights will often remain freezing so the snow cannons can continue to do their job.

Lower mountain ranges are turning white too. Not only the Alps, but also the Black Forest, Vosges and Sauerland will turn white. In the ski resort of Winterberg, preparations for the Winter sports season are already in full swing. At the highest point, the Kahler Asten, the temperature is currently around freezing point and initially there is still some snow. Later in the week the temperature here rises above freezing.
