PROFILE: Kelly Sildaru
DATE OF BIRTH: 17.02.2002
BORN IN: Talinn, Estonia
DISCEPLINES: Freeskiing, Slopestyle, Freeskiing, Big Air/Slopestyle
Get Stoked, and let’s have a look at one of the youngest pioneers in freestyle skiing for this refresh friday!
Can’t get anymore fresher than Kelly Sildaru, aged 17 now. Landing tricks like a switch 900 clean competing against other pro’s twice her age, Kelly is the youngest freestyle skier to win a gold medal at the winter X games event in 2016 at 13 years of age.
Kelly is born and raised in Estonia, and was coached by her dad from a young age. At 5 years old Kelly already ripped boxes and ramps, making it look “easy peasy lemon squeezy”.
Check out Kelly when she was 5!
After winning her first golden medal, Kelly became the first female to ever land a Switch 1260° Mute and a 1440° in Norway at the Winter X games in 2017.
She is on her way to conquer, winning 3 golden medals this year at the Winter X games in Aspen which no one ever did before. And next to that she also landed a 99 out of 100 score, which is nearly perfect, and a first in slopestyle history and herstory. (https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=herstory)
Adding another world title in the halfpipe this year at the FIS World Cup in UTAH, USA. She at 17 years old is already a legend. One to keep your eye on!
